79% of Indian apps trick users into giving up their privacy, reveals ASCI-Parallel HQ study

A recent study conducted by the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) and UI/UX design company Parallel HQ revealed that over 79% of Indian apps trick users into sharing their personal data.

Published on Thursday, August 1, the study identified deceptive or dark patterns in more than 50 Indian apps spanning various sectors, including e-commerce, health, fintech, cab-booking services, and delivery platforms, which collectively account for a staggering 21 billion downloads.
